Rise & Rise of R for Clinical Trials

Everyone involved in clinical research is aware of the increasing volume and complexity of clinical data. It is leading to clinical trial budget overshoots with uncertain output. In such a scenario R programming shows a beacon of light with major players seeking open-source alternatives for clinical data analysis owing to its extensive range of statistical and data manipulation functions.

Interestingly, life sciences companies were hesitant to explore R for clinical trials until recently. Its slow adoption can be attributed to

  • Misconception that regulators strictly mandate use of SAS for submissions
  • Lack of awareness of its capabilities
  • Shortage of skilled resources to use R for clinical research

In this webinar, we intend to help life sciences stakeholders including SAS programmers to better understand how and why R is getting into Clinical Trials. This webinar is designed to answer your fundamental questions and to explain how R transforms the way we review and analyze clinical data. We will also discuss some of the challenges in R programming.

The webinar will also explore why R is making the transition from Data Science to Clinical Trials, similarities between R and SAS, the uniqueness of R programming.

If you are an R beginner, you will learn strategies for learning R since there is a steep learning curve.  If you are an experienced R programmer, then this webinar will be a good overview and confirm your reason for learning and applying R!
